You

Who should I start in flex week 1, 1pt PPR, Michael Wilson or Terry McLaurin?

Mohn Jadden

Start McLaurin. Our numbers have him at 12.3 projected to Wilson's 10.2 — a real gap, not a coin flip, and it's not just the raw points backing it up.

McLaurin's the more stable bet: zero dud weeks in his sample versus Wilson posting duds 18% of the time, tighter week-to-week swing (±5.1 vs ±10.6), and Washington's implied total (21.0) tops Arizona's (18.0). Both defenses are soft against the position — Eagles 25th, Chargers 24th — so that's basically a wash.

The one thing working against McLaurin on paper is usage — Wilson's actually got the bigger role (81% snaps, 20% target share vs. McLaurin's 70%/14%). But dig into why: the reporting on Wilson is clear that his monster stretch last year came almost entirely in games where Marvin Harrison Jr. was hurt or limited. When Harrison's healthy and playing 70%+ snaps, Wilson's target share has historically collapsed into the low-teens — and Harrison's expected to suit up in that Chargers opener. That's a real red flag on Wilson's ceiling this week that the raw usage number doesn't fully capture.

McLaurin, meanwhile, had his own drama this summer — contract standoff, ankle issue, missed camp — but he got his deal done and by all reporting is squarely in Washington's plan for the opener. Our projection already has him listed healthy, so that's baked in.

Call it moderate confidence, not a lock — but I'm rolling with Terry McLaurin in the flex.

Why you can act on it

A confident wrong number is worse than no number. The whole system is built around not giving you one.

Consensus, not one guy

Projections are blended from multiple published sources. Where those sources disagree, that disagreement becomes the player's floor and ceiling instead of being averaged away.

Value over replacement

Boards sort by VOR by default, because ranking on raw points puts a kicker above your WR2. Tiers are clustered off the same signal, so you can see where the real dropoffs are.

It says when it does not know

The coach may only state numbers that were retrieved for that specific question. If the data is not there, it tells you that instead of inventing a stat line. That rule outranks its personality.
